Franklin is Home

My wife Katherine and I moved to Tennessee in 2022 and were welcomed with open arms by Franklin and Williamson County. In that time, we have watched our community grow rapidly, and with that growth comes both opportunity and responsibility.

After a rewarding career in journalism, I want to give back to this place we call home, so I'm running to represent District 11 on the Williamson County Board of Commissioners.

I believe in thoughtful leadership, community collaboration, and protecting the unique qualities that make this area so special.

The Vision for Williamson County

Conscious Growth
Community Collaboration
A Lasting Legacy

Managing development thoughtfully to protect our history, preserve open spaces, and ensure Williamson County remains a place of heritage and beauty for future generations.

Building strength through listening and empathy. My approach focuses on understanding diverse perspectives to find balanced solutions that serve the entire community.

Prioritizing our children, infrastructure, and natural resources to ensure we leave Williamson County in a better, more sustainable state for those who follow.

THOUGHTFUL LEADERSHIP

“Listening to our neighbors, evaluating needs, finding collective solutions.”

Steve Atkinson for District 11

Decades of Listening

For decades, I worked as a journalist, where my job was to listen—really listen—to people’s stories. I learned to evaluate different perspectives, ask the right questions, and find the heart of the issues that matter most. That experience taught me that every voice matters, and every problem deserves thoughtful consideration.
